Bulbul


Bulbuls are a family, Pycnonotidae, of medium-sized passerine songbirds. Many forest species are known as greenbuls. The family is distributed across most of Africa and into the Middle East, tropical Asia to Indonesia, and north as far as Japan.

  2. What a stunning specimen! I lived in South Africa for a long time and saw many bulbuls but they were more of the brown variety with a bit of yellow near the tail. Wonder what Darwin would think about this distribution… 😉

  3. Yeah , they are Stunning ,this one is The Red-vented Bulbul ,The nominate race is found in southern India . and Sexes are similar in plumage, but young birds are duller than adults.Red-vented bulbuls feed on fruits, petals of flowers ^_^
